Modelmaking and workshop practice 2

3 points + 2 laboratory hours and 4 independent study hours per week + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisites: IDE1501

Synopsis: Modeling and prototype construction assignments. Models of wood, plastic and epoxy compounds cast from simple silicon moulds; novel use of manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques; simulation of a variety of surface finishes, colours and textures; finding new methods and materials to gain specific effects; working from photo reference, sketches, scale drawings and technical drawings.
