Synopsis: The systems development process; tools, approaches and role of design; design of user interface, programs, files and data bases; control and security; basic design and architecture of distributed systems; data communication requirements; implementation and maintenance, training and planning for implementation evaluation; challenges facing IT managers. Access to the university's computer systems through an Internet service provider is compulsory for distance education students.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 60% + Other assessment modes: 40%
