Synopsis: Topics include problem formulation in engineering terms; quantitative formulation based on scientific laws and engineering constraints; selection and application of appropriate mathematical solution methods based on the topics of matrices and linear equations, ordinary differential equations and partial differentiation and the engineering significance of the solutions.

Assessment: Written examination (3 hours): 60% + Assignments: 30% + Tests and problems: 10%
