Synopsis: Applications of engineering and physical science to medicine and biology. Applications include electrical phenomena in living tissues, natural and artificial neural networks, circulatory measurements, some examples of artificial organs, biomechanics, biomaterials, imaging and processing of biological products.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 70% + Problem classes: 10% + Laboratory work and site visit reports: 20%
