Synopsis: This subject will provide an overview of electronic commerce: its enabling technologies and infrastructures, impact on business systems and processes, and upon the transactions, connectivity, and relationships between and entities. The subject will also discuss business controls needed in electronic commerce, the importance of international standards, risks, audit, ethics, privacy, legal and security issues. It will also consider corporate, national and global information infrastructures; aligning information technology to business strategy; electronic marketing worldwide and the implications of electronic commerce for government policy.
Assessment: Essay ( 2000 words): 20% + Research Report (2500 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
