Synopsis: Teaching and learning about issues of society in historical contexts. Developing students' understandings of different societies at different times. Developing cognitive and affective skills that encourage independent, critical and creative thinking, and foster the values and attitudes of good citizenship. Traditional and innovative teaching and learning strategies, using a variety of primary sources, lesson, unit and course planning, inquiry methodology, Gardner's multiple intelligences, Bloom's Taxonomy, SOSE curriculum perspectives, catering for the mixed ability classroom, assessment and reporting strategies, VCE histories, and professional issues associated with the teaching of history.
Assessment: Lesson plan,resource guide for a particular history, unit of work: 50% + Practicum: 50%
