Synopsis: The rationale of education through the arts and the place of dance in arts education. Processes common to the arts including creating/making and presenting, arts criticism and aesthetics, and past and present contexts. Other aspects of dance curriculum such as devising dance lessons and safe dance practice. Practical experience in dance is a major part of the subject.

Assessment: Essay (2000 words): 40% + Dance composition: 30% + Oral presentation: 30%
