Synopsis: A study of school systems and school communities as interactive communities of administrators, teachers, parents and students with special emphasis on secondary schooling. Social, political, historical and philosophical perspectives on the making and working of different schools and school communities and educational issues.

Assessment: Clayton (participation in workshops, 10%, media presentation and writing task, 20%, social autobiography, 30%, interview/report/essay of 2000 words, 40%): 100% + Gippsland (presentation, 40%, open book examination, 60%): 100%
