Synopsis: There are two units. The first unit presents an analysis of alternative arrangements for the finance and delivery of health services from an economic perspective, and the microeconomic tools to analyse the market for health including concepts of efficiency and equity. The second unit applies microeconomic principles to the evaluation of health care programs.

Assessment: Two assignments (2000 words each): 40% + Presentation at compulsory seminar in Melbourne or Sydney: 20% + Examination (3 hours): 40%
