Introductory macroeconomics

Synopsis: An introduction to the study of economics from a macroeconomic perspective including the following areas of study: trade in a global village, GDP as National Income and Aggregate Expenditure, savings and investment, unemployment, money and the Australian monetary system, aggregate demand and supply in the short and long run, monetary and fiscal policy including the related debates and in particular Australia as an open economy.

Assessment: Two assignments (each 2500 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 70%
