Synopsis: This subject is for honours students of exceptional ability. Acceptance into the subject is by invitation only, such invitation normally being made at the end of the first semester. The subject involves an individual experimental project and normally includes a preparatory literature survey and developmental work such as design, construction and programming. Students are expected to apply substantially greater effort to this project compared with ECS4395.

Assessment: Practical and written work: 85% + Seminar presentation: 10% + Display material: 5%
