Synopsis: Introduction to electronic systems and components. Instrumentation systems: transducers, signal conditioning subsystems; instrumentation, isolation and current mode amplifiers; interference control: grounding and shielding. Data acquisition systems: A/D and D/A converters, V/F and F/V converters; multiplexers, sampling and track-hold amplifiers; data acquisition subsystems. Filters: Butterworth, Chebyshev filters; active, universal and switched-capacitor filters. Oscillators and timing systems: LC and crystal oscillators; phase-lock loops; universal timer/counters; modulators and demodulators. Power supply systems: voltage references; linear and switched-mode regulators.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 75% + Laboratory work and assignments: 25%
