Synopsis: Basic probability theory and applications in engineering; reliability models and evaluation of simple and complex systems; reliability calculations for stand-by, repairable and non-repairable systems; probability distributions in reliability evaluations; system reliability evaluation using probability distributions; discrete and continuous Markov chains; state space diagrams; frequency and duration techniques; approximate system reliability evaluation, systems with non-exponential distributions.
Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 60% + Assignments: 30% + Laboratory work: 10%
