Synopsis: Topics include the supply of and the demand for labour, education and training, the operation of labour markets, including the role of institutions in the labour market, wage relativities, disadvantaged groups in the labour market, and the role of trade unions. Also included is a study of the macroeconomic implications of wage changes and a consideration of wages policy. Special attention is given to Australian labour market conditions.

Assessment: Assignment one (1500 words): 20% + Assignment two (2000 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
