Synopsis: Introduction to principles of marketing and planning. Included in the marketing segment are planning for the company, markets, the marketing mix. The business plan and principles of quality management are investigated. Aspects of public sector business, the government and privatisation are linked to legal issues relating to engineers. Students are provided with the fundamentals of project management, financial reporting and budgets and introduced to the role of the professional engineer and professional ethics.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 50% + Assignments: 50%
