Synopsis: Experimental mechanics: particle dynamics, experimentation, modelling. Kinematics: position, velocity and acceleration; analysis and application to engineering situations; translational and rotational motion of free and constrained forces, mass, moment of inertia; linear and angular momentum. Laws of thermodynamics and applications; entropy; power cycles.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory work: 20% + Written reports: 10%
