Synopsis: Characteristics and experience of developing countries; the process of structural transformation; strengths and limitations of theories of economic growth and development; domestic and external sources of financial and human resources for development; the roles of international trade, investment, and technology transfer; economic policies, industry development strategies, and the role of government in the development process.
Assessment: Written (3000-word essay): 40% + Examination (3 hours): 60%
