Synopsis: The recent economic and social development of selected Asian countries, especially the role of the business sector. Topics include entrepreneurship; technological change; the dynamics of comparative advantage; import substitution versus export-oriented industrial growth; the development state; the stages of business growth.

Assessment: Written (3000-word essay): 35% + Tutorial assessment: 15% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
