Synopsis: A program of directed reading in French language texts especially relevant to the thesis topic. CRT6030 provides doctoral candidates researching in comparative literature or critical theory with the appropriate language skills to read texts in the original French. Students usually participate in an appropriate French language class (normally FRN1070 - see the Arts undergraduate handbook) for practical language acquisition.

Assessment: Essay (3000 words): 50% + Other assessment as specified for the appropriate French language subject: 50%
