Synopsis: Many rural and remote areas have poor or no access to specialist mental health assessment, treatments and support teams. To compensate, rural health professionals need to develop a range of skills in the area of mental health assessment and intervention. This subject is designed to help you acquire these skills and to gain a better understanding of mental health and illness in rural communities. Indigenous mental health issues will be considered.
