Synopsis: Simple model development; use of fundamental relationships (mass and energy balances); use of appropriate constitutive relations. The role of experimentation, data generation, analysis and use. Analysis and basic modelling of steady and unsteady flow systems, control, reacting systems, mass and heat transfer. Development of complex models. Modern computational procedures and computer-based techniques for model development and problem solution.
