Synopsis: Introduction to the client-server paradigm with reference to distributed and concurrent processing. The application of the client-server architecture to provide a business solution for today0s information systems. Management aspects and strategies for enterprise computing, end-user computing, information-oriented productivity and application integration. Technical aspects of client-server communication, protocols and system architecture. The use of metadata, design and performance in a client-server environment. Consider database and program design issues.
