Synopsis: Principles, techniques and applications of computer models in business and industry. Topics include computer spreadsheets, project management, Monte Carlo simulation, forecasting, service levels and inventory control, financial modelling and other decision support systems. Each topic is illustrated with a user-friendly computer package for use on a personal computer. Students use the computer models to carry out sensitivity analyses for a range of different inputs/outputs.
Assessment: Written (case study): 30% + Examination (2 hours): 70% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject
