Synopsis: An overview of the historical development of Australian labour law. The Federal constitutional basis of industrial regulation; the system of conciliation and arbitration, the regulation and security of trade unions; the legal protection of individual rights; enforcement and the regulation of industrial action including the law of torts and secondary boycotts.

Assessment: Written (assignments 4000 words): 40% + Take-home examination: 60%
