Synopsis: An introduction to legal studies and to the legal system of Australia with special emphasis on business aspects. The law of tort and contract as they affect business are examined. Consumer and competition law under the Trade Practices Act are introduced. Principles of the law of partnership and companies as a means of operating a business are compared and contrasted.

Assessment: Assignment: 30% + Examination: 70%
