Synopsis: A background in property and commercial law suitable for studies in taxation. Topics include the basic principles of property law including the various types of property, the various interests in property which may be held and the methods of acquiring and disposing of such interests and succession of property upon death. The subject also examines relevant principles of commercial law including contract law, agency and the law of partnerships, companies and trusts.

Assessment: Optional assignment (2000 words): 20% + Examination (3 hours, open-book): 80% or 100%
