Synopsis: An introduction to the Australian legal system with special emphasis on the legal environment of business. Topics include the law of negligence, the law of contract and consumer transactions, manufacturers0 obligations, insurance, cheques and banking law, agency, restrictive trade practices, intellectual property, directors0 duties, creditors0 rights and insolvency, forms of business organisation.

Assessment: Seminar paper (1500 words): 15% + Research paper (3500 words): 35% + Examination (open book): 50%
