Synopsis: An introduction to legal studies and to the legal system of Australia with special emphasis on commercial aspects. The law of tort and crime as they affect business and the professional are introduced, and the law of contract, consumer law, restrictive trade practices, partnership, trusts and insurance are studied in the business context.

Assessment: Written (2000 words): 25% + Examination (3.5 hours - includes 0.5 hours reading and note taking): 75%
