Synopsis: How energy is produced and used by living organisms. A general outline of cellular metabolism. The biosynthesis and breakdown of major biological molecules that contribute to energy metabolism of cells and tissues. The regulation and integration of central metabolic pathways in overall cellular metabolism, energy regulation and metabolism of specialised tissues. The biochemical basis of hormonal regulation, and of nutrition.
