Synopsis: Looking at art, architecture, literature, music and film, with reference to popular culture, the subject will place Australian culture in an historical context, focusing on issues such as national identity, class, gender and the representation of Aboriginality. The contribution of cultural forms to the definition of Australian values.
Assessment: Oral presentation (1000 words): 15% + Book review (1000 words): 25% + Essay (2000 words): 40% + Examination (1 hour): 20%
