Synopsis: Theories of the early /Bauhaus0 and /de Stijl0 movements with emphasis on wood design applied to wood turning and more advanced fabrication processes in joinery and construction. Training in the correct use of machinery supplements hand tool skills. Set projects deal with concepts, techniques and processes related to the creative potential of wood. Topics include economy, scale and proportion in design.

Assessment: Assigned projects: 70% + Practical work: 30%
