Globalisation of business has generated increased competition and new
opportunities for Australian industry. Whether firms can match the competition
and take full advantage of the opportunities in foreign markets depends largely
on the skills of their management personnel. This distinctive, specialised
course has been designed to provide an in-depth understanding of current
practices and future developments in international business. It prepares
students for leadership roles in international and internationalising firms.
Applicants require a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a
recognised tertiary institution or an executive certificate offered by this
faculty with an average grade of credit or above. Candidates may be eligible
for a maximum of four credit exemptions for subjects considered to be
equivalent to particular subjects in the course of study. Refer to the course
directors for further details.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of
Management as to the 2000 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually
and are therefore subject to change.
Students who complete the Graduate Diploma in International Business including
successful studies in two masters 5000 level subjects from the Department of
Management, and achieve an overall credit average or above, will be able to
articulate directly into one of the Department of Management's masters
programs. To complete a masters program, students will be required to complete
a further four masters 5000 level subjects.
