The Graduate Diploma in Accounting is designed as a 'conversion course' for students with a degree in a field other than accounting who wish to obtain a sound introduction to accounting concepts and procedures.
Applicants require a pass degree in a non-accounting discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, or an executive certificate from this faculty with an average grade of credit or above. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of six credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular subjects in the course of study. This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Accounting and Finance as to the 2000 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
Completion of the Graduate Diploma in Accounting will enable graduates to meet the academic requirements for admission to the CPA program of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants and the Professional Year program of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Diploma in Accounting may apply for admission to the Master of Practising Accounting.
