The Graduate Certificate in Marketing provides candidates with an undergraduate
degree in an area other than marketing with an avenue to obtain or upgrade
marketing knowledge and skills at the graduate level. The course involves a
detailed introduction to the marketing function and the opportunity for
candidates to select subjects of particular interest to their own specific
needs.
Applicants require a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised
tertiary institution plus a minimum of two years relevant employment
experience. Applicants without a first degree who have a minimum of six years
appropriate employment experience should refer to the section on executive
certificates. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of two credit exemptions
for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the
course of study. Refer to the course director for further details.
This is a fee-paying course. Course fees are reviewed annually and are subject
to change. Candidates should consult the Department of Marketing as to the 2000
course fees. Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in
Marketing may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Marketing or the
Master of Marketing.
The course consists of four subjects.
* STUDENTS HAVE THE OPTION OF CHOOSING TWO ALTERNATIVE SUBJECTS FROM THE OFFERINGS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING OR ONE SUBJECT FROM THE OFFERINGS OF THE DEPARTMENT AND ONE FROM ANY OF MONASH UNIVERSITY'S GRADUATE COURSES PROVIDED THE STUDENT HAS THE APPROPRIATE PREREQUISITES AND THE PERMISSION OF THE COURSE DIRECTOR.
