Agribusiness includes all private firms, public agencies and statutory
marketing authorities that bring food and fibre products to consumers or
industrial customers. The course provides an overview of the agribusiness
system, introduces the basic management functions of marketing, accounting and
finance and applies these concepts to the various participants in the
agribusiness system.
Applicants require a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a
recognised tertiary institution plus a minimum of two years relevant employment
experience. Applicants without a first degree who have at least six years
appropriate employment experience should refer to the section on executive
certificates. Credit for previous study is not available in this course.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of
Marketing as to the 2000 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually
and are therefore subject to change.
On successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness, students
may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness.
