The Graduate Certificate in Accounting is designed for students with a degree in a field other than accounting who wish to obtain a sound introduction to accounting concepts and procedures.
Normally, applicants for this course require a pass degree in a non-accounting discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants without a first degree who have at least six years appropriate employment experience should refer to the section on executive certificates. Credit for previous study is not available in this course.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Accounting and Finance as to the 2000 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
Successful candidates may proceed to studies towards a Graduate Diploma in Accounting (or the Master of Practising Accounting), which will then provide them with the basic requirement to obtain membership of the professional accounting bodies.
