Graduate Certificate in Reliability Engineering

Course code: 1765 * Gippsland campus * HECS fees applicable * Attendance is compulsory.

Aims

This course aims to train graduate engineers, whose objectives are to optimise availability of systems and maximise profitability of their organisation, with advanced knowledge and skills to meet their objectives.

Professional recognition

The course satisfies the continuing education requirements of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.

Entry requirements

A degree which is acceptable to the faculty board as a suitable preparation for the proposed course of study; or qualifications and experience which in the opinion of the faculty board constitute a suitable preparation for the proposed studies. (Candidates with a strong industrial background should consult the course coordinator.)

Special requirements

Attendance

One residential school of four days in the second semester.

PC requirement

Students are also assumed to have a basic computer literacy and have access to a personal computer. Software is supplied with the course material.

Course duration

The course is normally completed in one year by distance education.

Second semester

Assessment

Combination of assignments and final examination for the first three subjects, and a combination of a project and assignments for GEG7144.

Credits/exemptions

All students will be required to complete the twenty-four credit points required to qualify for the graduate certificate.

Completed applications are to be forwarded to the administrative officer, Gippsland School of Engineering, Monash University Gippsland campus, Churchill, Victoria, 3842, by 24 September 1999 to be considered for a first-round offer. Late applications will be considered subject to availability of places.
