The following prizes are available only to Victorian materials science students and are provided by the Institute of Metals and Materials Australasia Limited

J J McNeill Prize for Physics

A prize of $350 is awarded to the top honours student from amongst those enrolled in physics, applied physics or theoretical physics. The names of the recipients are displayed on a board in the Department of Physics.

The following prizes are available only to Victorian materials science students and are provided by the Institute of Metals and Materials Australasia Limited

IMEA Ltd Victorian Branch Student Award

A cash prize, one year's membership of the institute and a certificate is awarded for demonstrated excellence in a particular unit of the course taken at any year level.

IMEA Ltd Victorian Branch I J Polmear Award

A cash prize, one year's membership of the institute and a certificate is awarded for best educational promise during the first effective year of a degree or diploma level course.

IMEA Ltd Victorian Branch IMMA Prize

A cash prize, one year's membership of the institute and a certificate is awarded for the best student project submitted by metallurgy/materials engineering/materials science departments.

IMEA Ltd Victorian Branch Engineering Prize

A cash prize, one year's membership of the institute and a certificate is awarded for the best student project submitted by BEng, BTech, BSc courses.
