Course objectives

The course aims to:

provide students with a fundamental understanding of major principles of behavioural science;
provide detailed knowledge of a range of areas and theoretical issues drawn from the biological, social and cognitive aspects of the discipline;
expose students to a broad cross-section of topics relevant to contemporary applied and professional psychology;
provide students with a good understanding of research design and analysis in psychology;

The course is designed for students who already have a well-developed career goal of specialising in psychology and allows for a broader selection of psychology subjects at third year. The psychology program is taught on the Clayton and Caulfield/ Peninsula campuses. On completion of the course students will be eligible to apply for accredited fourth-year courses in psychology - either honours or postgraduate diploma programs. The psychology program is accredited by the Australian Psychological Society and approved for registration purposes by the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria.

PSY3031, PSY3051, PSY3042 and PSY3062 (24 points)
Up to a further twenty-four points from level-three PSY subjects
Remainder: student choice but must conform to BSc requirements.
