Because of quotas placed on student load within faculties, faculties must
limit the enrolment by students in subjects over and above their degree
requirements. Normally, students in the Faculty of Science may not take
subjects above the limits set down in the course requirements, unless:
(i) these are subjects listed in the Schedule of Approved Science
Subjects, except for quotaed subjects where the quota is normally filled, or
(ii) it is necessary for extra subjects to be taken because students have
changed their non-science major or minor.
In either case, prior approval of the faculty is required.
In all other cases, students may apply to the faculty offering the subjects for
permission to enrol in single subjects. In this case students will be required
to pay the up-front fee for the subjects as set down by that faculty.
