Public health in refugee settings

Synopsis This subject provides an overview of the key public health consequences of complex humanitarian emergencies involving armed conflict, population displacement, and food scarcity, and an outline of the critical public health interventions in these settings.

Assessment During the semester, a scenario based on a refugee situation will be presented to students in a phased manner. Four sets of take-home questions will be provided to each student at three-weekly intervals. Assessment will be based on student participation in the group exercises and oral presentations, as well as responses to the take-home sets of questions.
