Synopsis The aim of this subject is to give students an understanding of the various physical hazards encountered in the occupational and general environment and to demonstrate the methods of recognition, evaluation and control that may be applied to them. Noise and vibration, ionising and non-ionising radiation, thermal environment, pressure effects, dusts, biomechanics, physical design of tasks, task physiology and perception will be covered.

Assessment Pre-test: 20% · Assignment: 40% · Final examination: 40%
