Synopsis This subject will aim to provide students with the skills necessary to undertake small-scale epidemiological research. It will include protocol development, definition of study and control populations, data collection methods, statistical methods to analyse data and how to interpret and present results. Sources of bias and confounding, and design and analytical measures to overcome them, will also be covered. During this subject, students will develop a research protocol, including an application to an ethics committee.
