Objectives Upon completion of this subject, students will have furthered their awareness and appreciation of group processes including the experience and containment of anxiety.
Synopsis A group will be formed from the whole class, and conducted by a group facilitator. The psychodynamics of the group will be explored over a series of fifteen time-limited sessions. The experience of participation in an analytic experiential group will promote greater understanding of individual and group psychodynamics and develop an awareness of the group process beyond that achievable by conventional studies. The candidate as a member of an experiential group will gain greater awareness of group life and thinking which will enrich training as a group psychotherapist and also help during professional work with organisational groups.
Assessment Students will be assessed, for pass only, on attendance (minimum 80% of sessions) and journal completion. Students must pass both assessments.
