Objectives This subject is designed to enable students to develop an understanding of the Australian political and health systems and the nature of the relationship between them; develop a sound appreciation of a range of theoretical models and their utility as analytical tools; develop the skills required for effective research, evaluation, analysis and written communication; develop as politically aware individuals who are able to apply their knowledge and skills to gain a critical appreciation of current and future health debates.
Synopsis The subject examines the Australian health care and political systems and the process of social policy making in Australia. The approach taken provides a detailed and critical analysis of the politics of Health in Australia.
