Synopsis This subject analyses rural health management
and policy through an examination of rural social organisation drawing
particularly on the disciplines of management, political science and sociology.
It introduces students to the dynamics of rural society, including the concept
of 'rurality', the political economy of Australian rural communities and the
social impact of rural change. Implications for health, management and policy
are drawn out and current issues are identified.
Special requirements Access to personal computer facilities and modem is
desirable but not essential. Residential attendance is not required.
