Rural health issues and practice

Synopsis This subject includes the cultural, social and psychological aspects of living and working in rural and remote communities. A focus is given to groups with special needs. Morbidity and mortality patterns in rural communities are reviewed, emphasising the differences between city and country populations. Aspects of rural health services such as structure, management and process are examined. Issues relating to continuing education and professional development will also be considered.
Special requirements Access to personal computer facilities and modem is desirable but not essential. Residential attendance is not required.
