Advanced pathophysiology

Objectives Through a variety of in-class and clinically based activities, this subject should enable students to demonstrate an understanding of normal and maladaptive physiological processes; through an understanding of pathophysiological concepts, describe the aetiology, pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of health breakdown; apply pathophysiological concepts using a systematic framework to organise, analyse and synthesise data within a variety of acute care settings.

Synopsis Building upon existing knowledge of physiology, this subject aims to enable students, in a range of acute care environments, to increase their knowledge base of the underlying pathophysiological processes occuring in disease states.
