Principles and practices of psychosocial rehabilitation

Objectives The objectives are that students should have developed an understanding of current practices in the rehabilitation of people with serious psychiatric disorders, and be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of individual management plans, and the ability to examine and utilise functional assessments.
Synopsis This subject provides an in-depth examination of current practices in the rehabilitation of people with serious psychiatric disorders, and deals with examination and utilisation of functional assessments as well as the design, implementation and evaluation of living skills programs across a range of functional domains. This subject will be taught using computer-mediated communication, video programs, video conferencing, residential schools and mailed out text-based materials, as well as on-campus seminars and tutorials.
