The Pearcey Centre for Computing is the faculty's specialist computing
training centre based at the Caulfield campus. The centre is named in honour of
Dr Trevor Pearcey, foundation dean of the Faculty of Technology at Chisholm
Institute (now Monash University). Dr Pearcey was one of the pioneers of
computer science and is credited with development of one of the earliest
computing machines.
The centre offers a wide range of short courses to industry clients and members
of the public. The centre has its own high-end laboratories and access to all
the facilities of the faculty. Its lecturers are drawn from faculty staff,
supplemented by outside experts when required.
